Global warming protest cancelled by blizzard

This is up there with the old joke about the campus atheist club meeting next Tuesday night at 9:00, God willing -- except this joke's for real:

"Not many people showed up because of the blizzard conditions," said organizer Clea Major, an international studies student at the University of Utah.

It didn't take long for the six friends to pack up a bullhorn and posters they'd planned to use for their "scream-in," an outlet for their frustration about the failure of the Copenhagen climate talks earlier this month to curb the pollution blamed for climate change.

Still, they chatted with a few passers-by during the commuter-hour protest near the Gateway, and explained that, blizzard aside, climate change is expected to bring chaos to the global climate, said Major.

She called Wednesday evening's effort a success and possibly the first in a series. As for the snow, it's not entirely new; a protest she attended last year in Washington, D.C., suffered a similar fate.

"There is always the irony element," Major said.

Yes. And there's the suspension of common sense element, too.

It's the Gore Effect. Everytime Unhinged Al goes anywhere to talk about the climate, writes a book on the climate, gets a prize for his wonderful work on the climate, the dang temperatures drop another 10 degrees and we get another foot of snow. I had the laugh of my life while watching live footage of the weather in Copenhagen. Psalm 2 says that the Lord that sits in Heaven shall laugh at the fools that think they will take over the world. With the weather, coupled with all the truth now coming out about these "scientists" it looks as though God has let us in on the joke this time.

LOL... Just goes to show that the whole 'climate change' movement seems to be more of a secular religion (exploited by politicians for reasons of wealth redistribution and expansion of power) rather than a scientific reality and actual justification for concern.

PalmettoPatriot,

Well, that's the thing. We care about Christian stewardship of the planet -- that's our duty.

But as you say, the global warming people have turned this into an excuse for wealth redistribution and greater control over our lives.

Kinda like the "for the children" argument -- yes, we need to care for children, but not through the government.

"Big Al" Gore. He took a natural occurrence, i.e., the cyclical warming and cooling of the Earth, put a liberal spin on it, and blamed it on industry. As a result, he will become a billionaire. If it wasn't so disgusting, it would be impressive. My favorite part of "climate change" is how dogs, cats, and livestock are each accused of creating more greenhouse gases that SUVs.

The cult of the climate is so bogus and absurd that the lefties who worship man's attempt to be above our Lord actually think they can change the climate!
This also fits in with the One World Order idealists too.
Maybe it is time for a lesson in Humility from God along the lines of the Tower of Babel.

And they accuse us Southrons of being unrealistic?
