Perry: Obama 'hell-bent' on socialism

The Texas governor who fired up Tea Party supporters with his endorsement of secession from an increasingly oppressive central government is at it again. This time, he's voicing the concerns many Americans share about DC's out-of-control arrogance and ambition:

Texas GOP Gov. Rick Perry accused President Barack Obama on Wednesday of “punishing” Texas and being “hell-bent” on turning the United States into a socialist country.

Speaking at a luncheon for a Midland County Republican Women’s group, Perry said that “this is an administration hell-bent toward taking American towards a socialist country. And we all don’t need to be afraid to say that because that’s what it is.”

It wasn't just talk when Perry agreed that Texas must assert itself against an unresponsive central government. Not long after his famous remarks at a Texas Tea Party rally, Perry sent teams of Texas Rangers to the Texas-Mexico border to do the job DC refused to do, stopping the waves of illegal alien invaders. And it looks like Obama didn't like that:

Perry also accused the Obama administration of intentionally dumping illegal immigrants from other western states in Texas, recalling a conversation he had with local officials notifying him that illegal aliens that were caught in Nogales, Arizona were being dropped off by federal authorities in Presidio, Texas. ...

The Texas governor said he sees the action as “punishing this state” and urged the assembled Republicans to “stand up” to Washington.

“I say it’s time to make tea parties twice as big as what they were,” Perry declared. “I think it’s time for us to stand up and say to Washington, D.C. that we are no longer going to accept that kind of stuff sitting down and being quiet.”

There's only one direction this can lead, because if you're not sitting down, you're taking a stand. In other words, Perry needs to back up his words with action again. It's time to give the people of Texas the option of reclaiming the powers delegated to the Federal government. Otherwise, DC will only continue its insane policies.

HaroldC,

Sounds like these Tea Parties need a little guidance. These protests need to be channeled into political action.

Sounds like they need us.

Mike Foster,

Hand out some Bonnie Blues at the next Tea Party. And when folks ask about them, explain what they represent.
