Head of anti-bigotry organization fears… Latinos and blacks!
From Mondoweiss:
In general today, one of the long-term challenges for the American Jewish community is evident in demographic forecasts that predict that in two or three decades, certain minority groups are expected to become a majority in the United States. A recent ADL poll showed that 12 percent of Americans hold anti-Semitic views – but among African-Americans, the figure is 28 percent, and among foreign-born Hispanics it is 35 percent.
"If 20 years from now the largest caucus in Congress is Hispanic, they will have a great deal to say about where foreign aid goes," says Foxman. "On church-state issues and all kinds of social issues – some of which impact directly on the Jewish community and some indirectly – they will have a great influence. We are working on it now, so as they become the majority force, there is a sensitivity, a relationship. It’s a major challenge."
Call the SPLC! They'll handle all those black and Hispanic anti-Semites!

I remember seeing some article saying that blacks are the ones who're voting against gay marriage, more so than whites. The blacks I work with are really adamant about the issue.
This is funny in it's own, special way. They just may have cooked their own goose, while trying so hard to cook ours. Hilarious!
You always see these surveys and anecdotal evidence about conservative views (particularly as to abortion, immigration and homosexuality) held by black people. And I think they are substantially true. But when the rubber hits the road loyalty to party appears to trump the conservative views. Is the suspicion of white conservatives that great that a broader coalition can't be built?
The distinction must be made as to not supporting something and opposing it. I know a large number of people who don't support abortion. But very few who actively oppose it in a substantial way. Not supporting something lends itself far easier to compromising on an issue than opposition.
Anonymous,
Yes, fake conservative Andrew Sullivan has stewed about that inconvenient truth in his blog.
Jenny,
Yeah, if it wasn't so tragic, it'd be hilarious.
Maybe they'll wise up and change direction?
HaroldC,
True, but the problem is that blacks have been betrayed by their leaders, who are more interested in money and power than in serving their supposed constituency.
