Lese majesty?

Check out the poster that's got liberals staggering toward the fainting couch:

It has a bit of everything to appeal to the drunk tank of California conservatism: Obama is in white face, his mouth (like Ledger's Joker's) has been grotesquely slit wide open and the word "Socialism" appears below his face. The only thing missing is a noose.

A noose?

Of course, when liberals were smearing W as a chimp and an even creepier Joker, that was justifiable outrage, and protected free speech to boot. Infuriated Republicans back then tossed charges of treason at what they viewed as outrageous insults at their Beloved Leader. All of which demonstrates two disturbing trends in this former country: The delegitimization of dissent, and the increasing impossibility of holding together the Red and Blue States. Republicans charge that questioning a "war president" (and they're all war presidents now) makes you a traitor; Democrats insist that opposing a black politician's agenda reveals secret racism (which gives Obama double secret immunity).

The rising ire among the peoples of middle North America is becoming too difficult to contain in one oversized package.
