How To Overthrow The Government

Nifty title, huh? Well, it's the author's, not mine. He isn't advocating secession, but instead, the first step toward secession, so his column is essential reading:

The states must begin to control the flow of their tax money to the federal government, and must refuse any and all money offered by it. The states must also regain control of their own state guards. These military units should never be activated without the express permission of the governor or an act of the state legislature. Our state legislature can reaffirm this provision of the Second Amendment and reconstitute the state guard. In order to accomplish these things, the citizens must regain control of our state legislature, our renegade congressmen, and our senators by controlling the process by which candidates are selected and elected. This takes place in the local precincts, and executive committees.

This is the pathway to legal, peaceful secession. Why waste time running for Federal office? DC is impervious to reform.

Local is where it's at.

Indeed, but hardly minus its share of bumps and struggle.

We can start with Silver Scrip as a complementary currency at the local level.

It is unfortunate that a majority of our state elected officials are merely jockeying for position at the fed'rule level! There is little intention of actually upholding their state's sovereignty or authority OVER the fed'rules...

Perhaps, a glimmer of hope, should we get elected into state roles, those sussesh minded individuals with a backbone! Then the states and the people will have a little more bite!

This may not even be necessary. Has anyone at the LofS looked into getting initiatives put on state ballots to amend state constitutions to declare independence? This would be the simplest path to secession and would instantly put the issue in the mainstream.
