Janet Reno honored with "lifetime achievement award"
No, really:
Reno praised violence prevention programs and the current direction of the Justice Department.
"Now I can look at America and think this is a nation that is responding in the most intelligent way possible to deal with violence, especially domestic violence," said Reno, accepting the award.
Let's not forget that the most outstanding achievement in her career was to pre-empt any theoretical domestic violence in Waco by assaulting a religious community, killing 76 people, including 20 children and two pregnant women. There. No more threat.

It gets better:
Reno's oft-criticized decision to send Elián, then nearly 6, back to his father in Cuba actually reflected her love for children and family, said Morris Dees of the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Uhh -- right. We remember what Janet Reno did for little Elián:

If storming the private home of a child's relatives and forcing them to surrender the child at gunpoint, then sending him to Cuba to be raised a good communist doesn't prove love of children and family, I don't know what does. After all, who could argue with Morris Dees?
Wow. I couldn't make up stuff like this.
