Join the Obama Youth

... and complete the Revolution ...

And as if that weren't enough, Congress is providing even more domestic troops to spread the government's agenda:

The House of Representatives passed a measure Wednesday that supporters are calling the most sweeping reform of nationally-backed volunteer programs since AmeriCorps. But some opponents are strongly criticizing the legislation, calling it expensive indoctrination and forced advocacy. ... Others say they are concerned that the increased funding will be used to promote one ideology over another.

"It's allowing taxpayer funding of the left-wing organizations," said Larry Hart, director of government relations for the American Conservative Union.

Just don't get in their way, and everyone will be fine ...

H/T to Gail!

"Resistance to expanded public service programs can be expected from the ideologically sclerotic, those who occupy the negative ground between government as the problem and government as our enemy," former Democratic Colorado Sen. Gary Hart wrote in a recent op-ed on the Huffington Post Web site.

Hey Sen. Hotpance: I got your "expanded public service program" right here.

Yours from the "negative ground" here in our beloved state of Colorado, I am,

That's all we need ... gangs of glassy-eyed, mesmerized Obamatons roaming the streets -- a simian version of the S.A. Heil Hussein!

Not too long ago, the left was saying the same thing about Bush and the military enforcing the conservative doctrine du jour.

One minute the military is supporting the Bush cabal. Now it's Obama. Paranoia reigns supreme.

Snaggle-Tooth Jones,

Liberals have always seen themselves as enlightened and superior. The world is inherently flawed, and they must use force -- that is, government -- to reconstruct it. They're the heirs of the Puritans.

Do they have an option to oppose the measures being pledged to? (Of course not) How else are they going to sweep "change" into America?

Typical. Change, change, change, ad nauseam.

Describe the change, please.

Oh yeah - the government is here to help you. By controlling everything. By taking your money and giving it to the experts who best know how to distribute it.

Oh, and expect more bonuses and feigned anger at said bonuses by these change monkeys.

As Jefferson would say, the Tree of Liberty needs to be watered. Any program the State imposes could be done voluntarily if people wanted to. The State is slavery.

From what I've heard, there was virtually no participation in this project. The few people who did participate did so in groups and collected signatures in public shopping centers, mainly asking only blacks for signatures. I guess they realized how foolish it would be to go door-to-door in a middle class neighborhood peddling this garbage. If they had, I seriously wouldn't have been surprised to have heard reports of violence.
I read a story in the Birmingham News where they interviewed the organizer of one of these petition drives. He said that the group planned to ignore dissenters and would worry about them later after they had amassed their "army"; yes, he actually used the word "army."
