Maverick magic

Sounds like Democrat Joe Lieberman has caught McCain fever:

Asked later if he agreed with Sharansky that an Obama presidency was "a risk" to Israel, Lieberman told Newsmax: "I guess I'd say it affirmatively: A McCain presidency will be good for the state of Israel."

Here's an idea -- and I'm just thinking out loud here -- wouldn't it be nice to be able to vote for someone who'd be good for this country, and not Israel, or Mexico, or the trans-national corporations?

Just a suggestion ...

" ... someone who would be good for this country ."

It does sound quite simple and easy to grasp , doesn't it ? Wonder why the sentiment never caught on ? Perhaps it wasn't in the program .

We're allowed to critisize most things ( although nothing of a critical and needed nature will happen )... but certain things you're not . Eliciting shrieks of horror - anquish even .

You're right - just whose national security are we talking about ?

We've had more anti American sentiment stirred up internationally over the last 50 - 60 years than our entire history ... coincidence ?

All animals created equal , some just being more equal than others ?

It's not as if it's been very hard to notice .

When the con man knows his slight of hand is soon to be exposed ( further ), he prepares himself for the impending tempest .

Just how hasty and nasty a reply we may soon see . Fodder for the few we are .

The District of Coercion has been so clueless about "national interest" and "public interest" for so long, I suspect that no one there (including both Presidential candidates) have any idea what they mean.

National interest and public interest are a compass, but a compass is useless if you don't know where you want to go.

jeff,

Yes, certain topics are strictly prohibited -- but we're supposed to believe we're the "freest country on earth." Right.

harold thomas,

Exactly. These days, we're supposed to believe in something called "American universalism," whatever that could be. So our fighting men should die protecting Tbilis as a vital American interest. Uh-huh.
