The Caucasian Ultimatum

A reader is worried about Bush talking loudly when he has no stick to back it up:

This bothers me in more ways than one. First, WHY are we inserting ourselves into it? But, on a more trivial note and more along the backwards logic I possess - what if Texas seceeded from the Union. And then the United States decided to launch an all out war against Texas.

Why could Russia not send troops to aid, support and train Texans on how to fight under the guise that they recognize the need for the Independence of the Country of Texas. It's a strange logic, but isn't that what we are doing with Russia right now? Or do I just not get this? I am not that educated in the Georgia Republic, etc. so I may be off target. I am concerned that we are sending troops there however. Robbi

Oh, I think you're absolutely right. That's exactly what Bush is doing. And you're also right that Bush's actions toward Georgia - which are being endorsed by both globalist candidates seeking to replace him -- are making our world and our country less safe, not more. By assuring the Georgians the good ol' US of A would watch over them no matter what they did, Bush gave them a false sense of confidence. They foolishly tried to quash Ossetian independence, and the Russians, who expected such a move, jumped in.

And after backing Kosovo's independence, which is in Russia's, not our, back yard, on what basis can the US government object to Russia's actions?

Hey~
.
He wants an all out world war. Haven't you figured that out, yet?
.
He's doing his damnedest to get one started.
.
I don't know. Do you think he thinks it will hasten the second coming?

Seems to me that Russia has used military action to protect it's citizens living in South Ossetia. Would the US do the same to protect it's own civilians in another country? Sure.

Georgia is at fault for this reason - let the breakaway provinces depart if they wish. The wishes of the local people should overrule the power of the state.

But who really believes that crock these days?

The State of Georgia (American) should secede under the campaign of "Lets become the better Georgia!"

I am surprised at all of yall's distrust and criticisms of Bush.

One only need to contemplate how well he has dealt with Iraq.

A proven expert in foreign policy such as he will easily make a just judgement on this issue . . .

Surely he will see that Russia's military actions are justified.

Only a fool that thinks everything "Russia" is evil because of too many cable TV Rocky reruns would blame THEM.

Only a fool...

pinky,

Bush has several objectives. Chief among them is to keep the military-industrial-congressional scam going. To do that, he needs enemies.

bob,

You're right - hypocrisy is rampant these days. The world has to abide by one set of rules, while DC can do whatever it wants.

generallee,

DC has been justifying its oversized military by picking fights with midgets like Panama, Grenada, and Iraq. Iran would be too much for us, especially now that Bush and his Neocon nutjobs have ruined our military and economy, and taking on Russia would be out of the question.

pawmetto,

Bush THINKS he's the god-like good guy, and that he can order any other country around. He's more of a lame duck than he realizes.

Mike,

Like I said, ..."only a fool."

I still conjure up the images of the "Mission Accomplished" banner.

I have done a LOT of thinking on this clash between Georgia and Russia and it has become a hot button for me.

This is the climax of America's arrogance and hypocricy. All of the facts are there, yet somehow the Democratic and Republican factions of OUR useless government fail to look objectively at them.

Sure, strike up the band....How does "TAPS" sound?
