NAACP Fails the "Morris Dees" test
Back in March, Morris Dees gazed down upon the American nation and proclaimed that it was good that a black man and white woman were running for president. This historic choice would "test the nation," he said, because it gave us a chance to prove whether we could overcome our biases:
Americans will have to overcome their systemic biases against gender and race if they are to take advantage of the historic possibilities in this year's presidential election, a prominent civil rights lawyer said Tuesday at Sonoma State University.
"If we're going to build the bridges that separate the divide in this country, whether they be about race, gender or sexual orientation . . . it's going to be because we reached across those divides and learned to care about and love people who are different than we are," Morris Dees said.
Sadly, one powerful political group made it pretty clear this week they're saving their love for someone like themselves:
Following a tough act before a tough crowd for a Republican presidential candidate, Sen. John McCain advocated economic and educational equality and lathered on some charm yesterday to woo converts in the black community.
The presumed GOP presidential nominee had the difficult task of addressing the 99th convention of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People less than 48 hours after Sen. Barack Obama electrified the convention Monday night with a speech focusing on personal responsibility.
In a 25-minute address, McCain gave a nod to the obvious: He faces long odds of getting a substantial number of black votes against Democrat Obama, the soon-to-be-first African-American presidential nominee. A New York Times poll yesterday showed Obama winning 89 percent of the national black vote, compared with 2 percent for McCain. ...
"Within this group (McCain's) going to have a tough time finding votes," said Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory, a Democrat and the city's first popularly elected African-American mayor.
2 percent? No love from this group. Not even a hug.
Realizing his predicament, McCain used his last ace to try to salvage the situation -- he grovelled:
"Whether or not I earn your support, I need your good will and counsel," McCain said. "And should I succeed, I'll need it all the more."
He called Obama "an impressive fellow" whose run for the presidency has been historic.
"Whatever the outcome in November, Sen. Obama has achieved a great thing -- for himself and for his country -- and I thank him for it."
Be certain that Morris Dees will scold the NAACP for its inability to live up to his high and noble standards. Expect a stern press release from the SPLC any minute now -- here it comes -- wait for it ...

Since when have Morris the Sleaze and his Lie Center trolls ever had any love for people who are different from them in opinion?
I feel like as long as you have organizations designed to point out the differences and "represent" the differences of people, we will never make progress. We can work side by side based on skills, education, capabilities and contribution or we can work side by side and point fingers at one another based on how we judge. We wouldn't judge if we didn't know there was reward in doing so. There are times when people need representation but we have to analyze what that representation is accomplishing or not accomplishing. I feel like if it's accomplishing reminding us all that we are different and telling us to be treated according to our differences - pro or con - we are stepping back in time.
anonymous,
Diversity is a wonderful thing -- but not diversity of beliefs when it comes to the religion of political correctness.
saddlegait,
But harmony and progress are the last thing Dees & Co. want -- just like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, this crowd profits from fear and turmoil.
They're a lot like DC in that respect.
Their definition of "diversity" is a twisted ploy to get what they want..mammon as the Bible says.
It is not diversity , BUT INSTEAD WHAT I call..
DIVESTITY !!!
We fully intend to divest you of your money or mammon!
PS Where are you Je$$ie when John McCain need you to call him names?
pawmetto,
pawmetto,
"Divestity"? Another gem. You're hot this week.
Naturally, I can only speak for myself on this, but I have found that, as a rule, I am able to be "colorblind" in dealing with black co-workers whom I have grown to like and trust. But, on the other hand, I am constantly reading and hearing race-baiting and racist comments by so-called "black leaders," and the constant verbal pounding we whites receive regarding blame of "institutional racism," "painful reminders of racism and slavery," etc. This cannot help but instill in us whites a "us vs them" complex where both whites and blacks are made to look upon one another as opponents in life. It is this constant pounding by race-baiters and the MSM that is preventing our society as a whole from becoming "colorblind."
We constantly hear how black society and white society are likened to "oil and water" that cannot mix properly. We hear how black youths who try to accel academically, or speak proper English are abused by their fellow blacks as "acting white." We hear blacks who do not follow the "ghetto" lifestyle and lingo being referred to by their own people as "oreos," "house slaves," etc. Witness Je$$e Jack$on's recent comments about Barack Obama.
On the other hand, we see our white children who want to be "cool" and accepted at school adopting the destructive "ghetto" lifestyle, looking for acceptance by blacks their own age who will not accept whites who "act white." It all seems like a one-way street that only keeps white and black Americans separated by race.
This on-going racial separatism (segregation by another name) is actually a product of the Leftist socialist mindset that accompanies the pervasive agenda of "political correctness," which has actually fostered that which it supposedly seeks to overcome--racism and bigotry.
All of this reminds me of a magician who performs his magic by keeping his audience's eyes off the hand where the actual sleight is being performed. As long as the Empire keeps American citizens bickering amongst ourselves, we are unable to pay much attention to its grab for the last of our individual freedoms. If Americans would all band together to safeguard our individual freedoms, the Empire could not continue its efforts toward World Government.
Political Correctness is cultural Marxism. It is Marxism translated from economic into cultural terms.
First of all, both are totalitarian ideologies. The totalitarian nature of Political Correctness is revealed nowhere more clearly than on college campuses, many of which at this point are small ivy covered North Koreas, where the student or faculty member who dares to cross any of the lines set up by the gender feminist or the homosexual-rights activists, or the local black or Hispanic group, or any of the other sainted "victims" groups that PC revolves around, quickly find themselves in judicial trouble. Within the small legal system of the college, they face formal charges – some star-chamber proceeding – and punishment. That is a little look into the future that Political Correctness intends for the nation as a whole.
