Fly the Flag proudly today!


If you want to take a stand against a regime that claims total power over you and your property, today's the day to fly the flag of self-determination and resistance to tyranny -- like these folks.

As you watch it catch the July breeze, recall the reasons the Founders asserted their right to self-determination in 1776, and compare those reasons with the train of abuses and usurpations we suffer under today. As you read them below, don't let yourself be lulled with images of angry rioters in three-cornered hats, tea parties, or the Stamp Tax. Instead, think of the USA PATRIOT Act, DC's Open Borders agenda, secret renditions, FISA, and the massive debt created by the illegal and murderous Iraq war.

The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.

He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury:

For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:

For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies

He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & Perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.

Every time you see one of your fellow citizens kneel on his red-white-and-blue kneepads today, let the words "totally unworthy" ring in your ears, and imagine, just for a moment, how different life could be. And should be. I think Americans' exaggerated fervor in showing off their patriotism comes from their suppressed realization they're living a lie. Today's CNN poll reveals 69 percent of adult Americans said the signers of the Declaration of Independence would be disappointed by the way the nation has turned out overall. No fooling.

Oh, and have a happy Fourth of July.

Most think our options are a liberal democrat tyrant or a liberal republican tyrant. Vote righteously or not at all, my brothers. Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party is a lawful candidate.

I'm spending the day advancing my family's independence from government and corporate products and services. May agrarian ways bring us a measure of freedom...

The government we have now is the one we deserve.

I'm not saying that we all wanted these crooks to be in charge; but, I'm saying that not being joined together in unity separates us and makes us vulnerable.
.
We are not going to change our government over night. It is going to take some doing; but, we can start by changing our direction.
.
We need some heavy changes. And, it sure looks like McCain will only give us more of the same. Why? Because he is appealing to the same base that GeeDubya got to put him in office where he could do what he has done.

That sort of Top Down Politics is what you are opposed to and so am I.

I think you and I both want a Bottom Up Politics that will move our society in the best direction for all the people--not just the greedy.

The times have changed. Technology affords us a completely new economy. Run-a-way capitalism is failing us as it buys turkeys to run our government on behalf of the super greedy. We have been lied to about progressive institutions like universal medicine and education. And, there is much more that can be done.
.
We have come a long way from eighteenth century economics and politics.
.
And, the time to change our direction has finally come to us.
.
We can begin the process this November.

Wasn't our nation founded on "ask now what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country!"? I think it's profoundly wrong how the majority of our citizens wonder what's in it for them. Nothing is "in it for them" as long as they are doing nothing.

Our nation was founded on the obsession the colonists had for our unalienable rights among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

It is important to understand that the Colonists lived on the edge of civilization and right next to, and in many cases, deep in nature. No European had experienced such a life style; but, for more than two hundred years the Colonists were self supporting with no help from the British crown whatsoever.

Read the Declaration of Independence--do a little research--and understand your roots.

I am not sure if your comment is directed at me and it's against my nature to argue. However, I completely understand my roots, both from the Declaration of Independence to the simple country people from which I come. I come from a long line of those who have taken care of themselves. However, they NEVER did it completely alone. They were always aware they had neighbors who may or may not have needs and those neighbors understood at the same time that my ancestors may or may not have needs. They did not function unitarily but with the knowledge that no man is an island and that the only way a country or a group of citizens could be successful was through mutual respect and contribution. They didn't stand with their hands out and they didn't blame some leader who they elected unless they, themselves were equally acountable for their lack of support of that leader or their lack of clear direction of that leader. They participated in elections, the understanding of the community standards and needs was clear. If one person became selfish or greedy, the community quickly dealt with them as that type of personlity could not function for long in that society.

These days, our government has become it's own corporation and their "donations" are quickly taken by many. This costs us in our life and liberty and there is no pursuit of happiness when that happiness is at the cost of others. Our Declaration of Independence was never intended to guarantee one man rights over another. It was never designed to build a government where taxation and power overcame individual rights to basic freedoms. It was not designed to give fear control over the citizenry.

Safety from a tyrannical government! A world where citizens could work as a unit towards the greater good of the unit.

If you think it guaranteed your rights over mine to the point that you can abuse me, use me or - excuse my grammar - screw me over for your own gain - you are mistaken.

The Declaration refers to "one people" not "one person".

I don't need you to understand it. I live a very simple life with community as a focus. I hold myself accountable before I hold others accountable. My priorities are family and community which were the priorities instilled in me from my ancestors.

I read the Declaration. I don't need some other site explaining it to me. I may be southern but that doesn't make me stupid.

What I just posted was an excerpt out of the original document from the link Michael provided.

It's a waste of time to argue it. I prefer to attempt in my most pathetic manner to live it. My part begins with me and my role in this world and, my part ends with the integrity and faith I instill in my child. It's not my mission to argue with someone else over it on the internet. I bow out of this argument as, again, it's not in my nature to argue. I prefer living it to the best of my ability and hopefully my failures won't cause future generations to suffer.

Arguing with a stranger on the net who I do not know is non-productive. You may be the best candidate for our next candidate for all I know. I simply do not know you and you do not know me.
