A reader questions my post on Ron Paul
A reader responds re: Paul No. 1 on Amazon.com:
But don't you think it's useless? Ron Paul will never get the nomination?
No and yes.
It's not useless. The great care our handlers show in keeping us in line tells us we're a sleeping giant. They know we hold in our hands the power to stop them and re-assert our right to self-government. That's what they're so afraid of.
Leftists and globalists define approved orthodoxy in the American Empire. The left’s hatred for tradition requires forced intervention at home and abroad to reconstruct the world according to the leftist blueprint. The illusion of Constitutional, representative government depends on an “opposition” offering the same agenda in different packaging. And to rope in conservatives, Republicans wave the flag in support of leftist projects. So-called “Neoconservatives,” whose philosophical roots are Trotskyite, openly promote globalist universalism to replace America’s Western, Christian values.
But Ron Paul has called the entire globalist project into question. Big government is waging an unconstitutional war on our traditional liberties. Democrats justify their power grabs in the name of Civil Rights, and Republicans invoke the “War on Terror.” The result is the same: a centralized, tyrannical regime unanswerable to the citizens. That’s why Paul is feared and reviled by both wings of a ruling elite intent on protecting its power.
And as for your second question, yes -- anyone who runs on a platform like Paul's will not get the nomination. It's a fixed game.
But then, who needs it? As Jefferson warned us, "Were we directed from Washington when to sow, and when to reap, we should soon want bread." Well, we've become so dependent on the government that we have fooled ourselves into thinking we need a Ron Paul in DC to restore self-government to us. We don't. Besides, it's nonsense to look to the central government to lead a movement to decentralize power.
The battle is in our backyards, not in DC. The first step is to free ourselves mentally and spiritually from dependence on our exploiters in the Federal government. Then we can begin the task of restoring the right of self-determination and restoring Constitutional, limited government.
This is not pie-in-the-sky. Look at what the States are doing regarding illegal immigration, something the Federal government is not only failing to do, but is actively promoting in direct opposition to the will of the people. Alabama is training 70 state troopers with the power to arrest illegal immigrants. Arkansas has pledged to send troops to the Mexico border. Georgia has some of the toughest legislation, which requires all Georgia employers to verify the legal status of employees hired on or after Jan. 1, 2008, and makes jails determine the legal status of prisoners charged with a felony or driving under the influence.
Fighting where we can win, on the local level, is not just possible, it's happening. And it's just a start.

Well said, Mike, and most encouraging ! Another example to include is Sheriff Joe Arpaio (sp?) of Maricopa County, Arizona.
doug b,
Absolutely. We can put sheriffs like that in office when the county commission refuses to take action.
