An entire village turns against supermarkets

And finds something much better ...

This article shows what happens when a village decides to revive its local economy, eat locally, and work together to re-build a local economy and community.

Surprise! They also find that they feel like they belong to something.

Why can't WE do the same thing? Franklin Sanders

With gas and food skyrocketing beyond reach, this is looking more and more like the future. And no more plastic food!

Inspiring story, indeed. If they can do it, why can't we. Mike is right--with fuel and food costs going higher and higher, this may become a necessity. I also like the sense of community it creates.

michael hill,

Right. The sense of community is another of those intangibles you lose when you depend on the industrial food system.

FYI:

Support your local farmer by finding the closest one to you and buying his products.

Another sense in which "CSA" means something good. ;)
