From The Front Lines:
Hysterical Hotel Owner Gets Knickers In Wad Over Battle Flag

KY LS

It seems our LS Bluegrass Chairman, Basil "Bazz" Childress, was briefly detained by the police in Concord, North Carolina while attending the 2008 Sons of Confederate Veterans Reunion.

Evidently, Mr. Childress had hung that powerful talisman, the Confederate Battle Flag from the inside of his hotel room window, provoking the ire of hotel ownership. When Basil refused to take down the banner without having it demonstrated to him that his room rental agreement had being violated by such action -- which ownership either could not or would not demonstrate -- the police were called (oh my!)

Although forced to arrest Bazz, the officers unlike the hotel owner showed some good sense and refused to handcuff him. That may have had something to do with the fact that Mr. Childress had pointed out how the hotel management had granted a group rate to an organisation who's members are proud supporters of the banner in question, and that said banner was on display on everything from car bumpers to T shirts at the hotel in question.

One is left to suppose that there must be something dangerously mystical (in the mind of the hotel owner at least) about the visibility of the Flag in the window as compared to the other forms of display previously mentioned. We are informed that something more might be coming from this incident. We shall see.

At any rate, a loud Rebel Yell to our LS Kentucky State Chairman, Bazz Childress for his refusal to surrender his God given right to honour the heritage of Dixie to a self-appointed speech policeman disguised as a hotel owner.
